Multi-Site AI Widgets: How UK Agencies Manage 10+ Client Bots From One Dashboard

If you run a UK web or marketing agency, AI chat widgets are the highest-margin product you can resell right now. They take minutes to set up, almost nothing to maintain, and most clients will happily pay £79-£149/month for one. Here is the playbook for productising them as a managed service.

Why this works for agencies

The economics are simple. A Team-Connect Pro subscription is £99/month for 1,500 conversations. You can run as many separate widgets as you want on that single account. If you charge each client £99/month, the third client onwards is pure margin. Get to ten clients and you are netting roughly £800/month for an evening of setup work and very occasional knowledge-base tweaks.

Compare that to the typical agency add-on services — SEO retainers, social media management, paid ads management — all of which require ongoing labour. Managed AI widgets require almost none.

Step 1 — Pick the right tier

1-3 clients → Lite (£19/mo)

100 conversations shared across all client widgets. Fine while you are validating the offering with your first few clients.

4-10 clients → Growth (£49/mo)

500 conversations shared. Multilingual replies unlock — useful for clients with overseas customers. Custom personality.

10-30 clients → Pro (£99/mo)

1,500 conversations shared. Domain whitelist controls (essential — stops client widgets being mis-deployed). Phone support for you, the agency.

30+ clients → Scale (£199/mo)

5,000 conversations shared. Auto-scale overage handling means you never get rate-limited. Dedicated onboarding and 24/7 priority support.

Pro is the sweet spot for most UK agencies. £99/month divided across 15 clients is £6.60 of cost per client. Charge each £99 and you pocket £92 per client per month in margin.

Step 2 — Onboarding workflow per client

  1. Send a 5-question intake form — business name, top 5 services, opening hours, escalation keywords ("emergency", "complaint" etc.), owner mobile for SMS alerts.
  2. Click + Add widget in your Team-Connect dashboard. Give it the client's name.
  3. Open the AI setup assistant. Paste the client's website URL. Walk through the 90-second interview using their answers.
  4. Apply, review, tweak. Spend 5 minutes refining the AI's tone, adding any sector-specific Q&As, customising the primary colour.
  5. Send the script tag. Email the one-line embed snippet to the client (or their developer) with paste-before-body instructions.
  6. Add their domain to the whitelist. Stops the widget loading anywhere else and protects your conversation pool.

Total time per client onboarding: 15-20 minutes for the first one, under 10 once you have a template intake form. Charge £200-£500 as a one-off setup fee on top of the monthly retainer to make this very profitable per hour.

Step 3 — Pricing your service

The three most common agency pricing models we see:

  1. Flat retainer (most popular). £79-£149/month per client for unlimited tweaks plus owner-side inbox monitoring. Sweet spot is £99/month.
  2. Setup fee + low retainer. £400-£800 one-off setup, then £39-£59/month maintenance. Better for tighter clients but you front-load the value.
  3. Performance share. Free setup, then 10-15% of the qualified leads value the widget books. Risky but very profitable for the right verticals (legal, dental, estate agency).

Step 4 — What you actually deliver each month

Clients are buying outcomes, not features. Standardise your monthly deliverable so they know what they are getting:

  • Inbox triage twice a week. 15 minutes. Identify any conversations the AI fumbled, fix the underlying Q&A pair so it doesn't happen again.
  • Monthly performance report. Conversations handled, leads captured, response rate. Use the in-dashboard stats — takes 10 minutes to screenshot and email.
  • Quarterly knowledge refresh. Update pricing, services, hours, seasonal content. 30 minutes per client per quarter.

Total per client per month: under an hour. At £99/month retainer that's an effective hourly rate of roughly £100, with a near-zero variable cost.

Step 5 — Handling conversation overage

The shared conversation pool is the one thing that needs watching. On the Pro tier (1,500 conversations) you can comfortably support 15-20 small-business clients before brushing the limit. Two things help:

  1. Monitor the dashboard usage bar. Once you hit 70% mid-month, plan the upgrade to Scale.
  2. Charge a per-widget surcharge for high-traffic clients. A hotel chain might burn 300 conversations per month on its own. Bill them at £149/month instead of £99 to reflect their footprint.

Step 6 — White-label considerations

Team-Connect doesn't offer full white-label (the bubble shows "Powered by Team-Connect" by default), but clients almost never care once they see the AI working. If you have a particularly white-label-conscious client, you can:

  • Set the bot name to your agency name or the client's brand name
  • Customise the primary colour to match their brand
  • Use the client's own domain for any links the widget shares

These three changes alone make the widget feel native to each client's site. The small "powered by" footer becomes barely noticeable.

Real-world example

A UK marketing agency we work with services 14 clients across hospitality, healthcare and home services. They run all 14 on a single Team-Connect Pro account (£99/month). Average client retainer for widget management is £79/month, with a £350 one-off setup fee.

Monthly revenue: 14 × £79 = £1,106. Cost: £99. Net margin: £1,007 per month on roughly 4 hours of work. Plus £4,900 in setup fees across the 14 onboardings, paid once. That is a properly productised service — predictable, high-margin, low-effort.

Getting started

Pick the Lite tier today, build your first widget for a friendly client (free if that helps you get a testimonial), document your intake form, then onboard your next three. Once you hit four paying clients, upgrade to Growth. By month six you should be hitting Pro tier and earning solid passive margin.
